• Pause any active ingredients. Please pause any use of topical vitamin C, retinoids, and AHA/BHA acids 24-48 hours before your appointment. If you are on a prescription retinoid such as Tretinoin, please pause use for 5-7 days prior to your appointment and inform me beforehand so that your treatment can be adjusted appropriately.

• Skip other exfoliating treatments. Avoid use of scrubs, at-home peels, or aggressive facial treatments the week prior to your appointment.

• Avoid hair removal in the treatment area. Please avoid any shaving, waxing, threading, sugaring, or depilatory creams on your face or upper body for 5-7 days prior to your appointment.

• Avoid sun exposure or tanning. Freshly tanned skin may be more sensitive and reactive, and services cannot be performed on sunburned or irritated skin.

• Avoid injectables right before your appointment. Please allow at least two weeks between injectables such as Botox or fillers and your facial appointment.

• No open or compromised skin, cold sores, or active infections. Treatments cannot be performed on skin that is actively inflamed or has open lesions, including from picking or abrasions. Please reschedule if you have an active skin infection in the treatment area.

• Communicate any concerns. Let me know about any recent sensitivity, breakouts, or skincare changes so we can adjust your treatment plan or reschedule your appointment as necessary. 

• Avoid caffeine before your treatment. Caffeine can increase reactivity and make relaxation difficult. Avoiding caffeine helps ensure your session is as comfortable as possible.

• Wear comfortable clothing, remove eye contacts, and avoid wearing jewelry. Your comfort and ability to relax will help your skin achieve its best results.

• Arrive with a clean face. Makeup removal is included in your session if needed, but arriving with a clean face allows me to focus fully on your treatment rather than taking away time from other steps.

• Plan some downtime for after your session. Your skin might be pink or slightly sensitive for a few hours after your appointment. Taking some time to rest afterward supports recovery and helps you achieve your best results.

• Stay hydrated. Hydrated skin responds better to treatment and recovers more comfortably afterward.

• Relax and enjoy! Every treatment is personalized to your skin's needs and designed with your comfort in mind.

• Your skin may appear flushed or slightly sensitive after treatment. This is normal and will subside within a few hours to a day, depending on the service.

• Allow your body time to rebalance. Temporary effects such as increased urination or mild fatigue may occur. Rest and hydration will help support your results. 

• Use gentle skincare. Avoid scrubs, strong acids, active ingredients, or retinoids for 2-3 days after your treatment, especially if it includes exfoliation. Focus on cleansing, moisturizing, and protecting from UV rays to support your skin's recovery and strengthening your barrier.

• Sun protection is essential. To maintain your results and prevent irritation, use SPF 30+ daily, wear protective clothing, and avoid direct sun exposure for at least 24 hours after your treatment, and up to two weeks after a light chemical peel.

• Keep skin moisturized and nourished with gentle, barrier-supportive products.

• Avoid heavy sweating or heat. Intense workouts, steamy showers, saunas, and hot tubs can increase irritation and slow your skin's recovery.

• Do not pick, scratch, or rub your skin after treatment. This can cause irritation, infection, or scarring and may compromise your results.

• Resume active ingredients gradually. Wait until your skin feels calm before returning to use of retinoids, acids, or other potent products.
